The hype.

Loreto is a city on Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula, on the Sea of Cortez.

It is a hidden jewel on the Baja Peninsula with peaceful charm and dazzling landscapes.

It is still relatively new on the tourism radar; you won’t find rows of tourists sunbathing on the beach and partying until the sun comes up.

The food is exquisite with more local and fewer processed ingredients. Being far from a large city means that many chefs grow their own seasonings and rely on locally produced fruits, vegetables, meats, and seafood.

It was the first Spanish colonial city on the Baja Peninsula, and the home of many Jesuit and Franciscan missionaries. Mission Loreto is a church that has been standing over the city since the late 1600s.

AND there is a non-stop flight from LAX on Alaska airlines.

We hope it is as good as the hype.
